Manufacturing Drawings and CAD Drafting Services

Shop-floor-ready drawing packages that leave nothing to interpretation.

A good drawing package lets a shop quote accurately and build the part right first time. We produce detail and assembly drawings with complete dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes and notes.

We can also convert legacy or hand-sketched designs into clean, revision-controlled documentation.

What We Do

2D manufacturing drawings

Fully dimensioned detail drawings with GD&T where function demands it.

Assembly drawings

Exploded views, ballooned parts and assembly notes.

BOM preparation

Part numbers, materials, quantities and standard components, ready for purchasing.

Legacy drawing update

Old paper or CAD drawings rebuilt and corrected.

Technical documentation

Installation, operation and maintenance notes.

Revision control

Clear change tracking so the shop never builds from an old drawing.

Typical Deliverables

  • Detail drawings (PDF and DWG)
  • Assembly drawings
  • Bill of materials
  • Weld and finish specifications
  • Inspection drawings or ballooned prints
  • Native CAD and STEP files

Drawings drafted by a design engineer

A drawing is a contract with the workshop. If a tolerance is missing, a datum is unclear or a fit is wrong, the part comes back scrapped or the vendor adds margin to the price. LTM manufacturing drawings are prepared by an engineer who designs machines, so tolerances, fits and datums are chosen for how the part works in the assembly, not copied from a template.

Drafting services

  • Detail drawings: machined, fabricated, sheet metal and turned parts with dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, material and heat treatment.
  • GD&T to ASME Y14.5 and ISO 1101: datum schemes and geometric tolerances that reflect function and inspection method.
  • Assembly and weldment drawings: ballooned assemblies, weld symbols, exploded views and assembly notes.
  • Sheet metal flat patterns: correct K-factor and bend tables for laser cutting and press brakes.
  • Legacy conversion: paper drawings, scans, hand sketches and old 2D files converted into clean 3D models and revision-controlled drawings.
  • BOMs and documentation: bills of materials, cut lists, inspection drawings and installation or maintenance manuals.

A typical drawing package

For a complete machine, the drawing package normally includes a general arrangement drawing showing overall size, interfaces and lifting points; sub-assembly drawings with balloon references and assembly notes; detail drawings for every manufactured part; weldment drawings with weld symbols and post-weld machining; a bill of materials split into manufactured parts, standard parts and bought-out items; and a revision list. Standard parts such as bearings, guides, fasteners and pneumatics carry full vendor part numbers so purchasing can order without engineering support.

Drawings are checked before release for missing dimensions, tolerance conflicts, material callouts and consistency between the BOM and the model. This review is what lets a vendor quote and build without phone calls.

Why drawing quality affects cost

Over-tight tolerances raise machining cost and inspection time; loose or missing ones cause assembly problems. Each drawing is reviewed for tolerance stack-up on critical features, standard fits such as H7/g6 or H7/p6 for bearings and pins, achievable surface finishes and the inspection method the shop will use. The result is drawings that vendors can quote accurately and build without queries.

Formats and standards

Drawings are produced in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or AutoCAD using your title block and numbering system, and delivered as PDF, DWG, DXF and STEP. Drafting follows ISO 128 and ISO 129 conventions or ASME Y14.5 for US clients, with first or third angle projection as you require.

Pricing

2D manufacturing drawings start from ₹1,500 per drawing, delivered in batches. Larger drawing packages and legacy conversion projects are quoted at a fixed price after reviewing a sample.

Useful free tools while preparing drawings: the sheet metal bend allowance calculator and the steel weight calculator for BOM weights.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you convert old paper drawings into CAD?

Yes. Scans or photos of paper drawings are redrawn as 3D models and 2D drawings, with any unclear dimensions flagged for your confirmation rather than guessed.

Do you add GD&T to existing drawings?

Yes. Existing drawings can be reviewed and updated with a functional datum scheme and geometric tolerances to ASME Y14.5 or ISO 1101.

Which drawing standard do you follow?

ISO drawing practice by default, ASME Y14.5 for US clients, or your own company standard if you provide it.

How fast can you deliver a batch of drawings?

Drawings are delivered in batches, with the delivery date for each batch agreed in the quote. Urgent projects can be accommodated.

Can you work from our 3D models only?

Yes. If your team has completed the 3D design, we prepare the full 2D drawing set, GD&T and BOM from your models in your CAD system.

How an Engagement Works

Brief

You share the function, loads, space, cycle time and any drawings you already have.

Concept

We propose a concept with a layout sketch and the key calculations, so you can approve direction early.

Detail design

3D model, calculations, GD&T drawings and BOM, reviewed with you at agreed checkpoints.

Release and support

Native files and PDFs handed over, with support during fabrication and assembly.

Have a project in mind?

Send a short brief with sketches or specifications. You get a clear scope and a fixed quote, usually within one business day.
